Cotillion
The Beta Iota Omega Chapter of AKA began sponsoring an annual Cotillion in 1961. It has been held almost every year since that time. The Cotillion provides an opportunity for high school senior girls to raise scholarship money for college and to participate in workshops to enrich their development as ladies. The culminating event is a dinner presentation in the Spring where the young ladies are introduced and showcase dances with their fathers and escorts. We do not crown a queen or encourage competition in fundraising. Instead, all of our Cotillionettes are recognized equally. Participation in the Cotillion is open for: 1) Young ladies in the 12th grade, 2) who have an unweighted GPA of at least 2.5, and 3) who aspire to attend college after high school.
